((As ambassador, I thought maybe I'd do something useful and write up some reputation guides. I'll post them as I write them up. If there's anything I don't cover in the guide, just ask and I'll add it in.))

The Kalu'ak

The Kalu’ak of Northrend are a tribe of the Tuskarr people. They are well known for their fishing and hunting abilities, and as such can often be found along the coasts. More specifically, they have set up small fishing villages at Kaskala and Un’upe in the Borean Tundra, at Mo’aki Harbor in the Dragonblight, and at Kamagua in the Howling Fjord. The latter of the three ports also provide passage around the southern coast of the continent via giant sea turtle.

The Kalu’ak are a very kind and spiritual people, but they are quick to take up arms if you threaten or disrespect them.

They are always in need of assistance. I visit them every day to help them however I can. By showing your willingness to help them in these small tasks, you can also gain favor with the Kalu’ak. They make excellent allies and are generous to those they see as friends.

The tasks I am most often asked to complete are:
For Utaik at Kaskala – The retrieval of some of the Kalu’ak’s supplies from their village, which is under constant invasion of the Kvaldir, so that they might safely move their tribe to Un’upe.
For Trapper Mau’i at Mo’aki Harbor – The rescue of several wolvar pups from their village to the north of the harbor in hopes of giving future generations the chance at survival and peace with the Tuskarr.
For Anuniaq at Kamagua – Using fish found around the coastline to lure a reef bull to mate with a reef cow, in order to sustain their numbers on the coast.

I wish you all well in your efforts!

((Each of the dailies I listed give 500 rep, for a total of 1500 rep per day with the Kalu’ak. If you complete all of the quests for the Kalu’ak in the Tundra, Fjord, and Dragonblight, you should have around 2500 rep into Honored with them. This means you’ll have to do all three dailies for two weeks in order to hit Exalted with them.

Jewelcrafting designs are available at friendly and honored, and there are leatherworking patterns at honored and revered. As far as gear, several chestpieces become available at honored, and three weapons open up at revered.

Of course, at exalted, you are able to buy an epic fishing pole ([item]Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole[/item]) as well as a penguin vanity pet ([item]Nurtured Penguin Egg[/item]).

The quartermaster is named Sairuk and is located at Mo'aki Harbor.))

The Sons of Hodir
((warning - here be lore/quest spoilers))

The Sons of Hodir are frost giants based in Dun Niffelem in Storm Peaks. They originally defended themselves against Thorim, a titan* and watcher who was betrayed by his corrupted brother, Loken. Later, they learned of Loken's betrayal and allied with Thorim for his demise.

The watchers are believed to have been stationed at temples all over Northrend to keep out corruption from the Old Gods, most notably Yogg-Saron. However, Loken proved to be weaker than many of the Pantheon and committed many treacherous acts; among them, the murder of Sif, Thorim's wife.
But Loken was such a coward that he would not even own up to the murder. In order to lure Thorim away from his temple, he pointed his finger at the frost giants. In Thorim's grief and rage, he took up arms against the frost giants, one of the races he was tasked to protect. Thunderfall, in the east of Storm Peaks, is an eerie frozen memorial to the battle in which Thorim tossed his hammer, Krothir. King Jokkum, the ruler of the frost giants, says his father, Arngrim, placed a powerful rune on the hammer, which prevented Thorim from retrieving his hammer and fighting the frost giants again. Defeated, Thorim departed to the Temple of Storms, where he brooded for hundreds of years before finally learning the truth about his brother and the frost giants' innocence.

With our help, Thorim is able to reclaim Krothir and face off against Loken. Thorim also wishes us to aid King Jokkum and the Sons of Hodir, in a sort of repentance for his wrongs against them.

The Sons of Hodir require much help from their allies, but are very generous in their rewards. Here is the assistance they ask for:
- The gathering of Frozen Iron Scraps, to keep up the supply of metals for the Sons. I deliver five large pieces to Fjorn's Anvil.
- Using a treasured artifact, I take Hodir's Horn to Thunderfall and, after defeating the restless spirits of the giants and frostborn alike, blow the horn to give their souls peace.
- The collection of viscous oils, for the upkeep of Hodir's Helm displayed in Dun Niffelem. They are easiest to find in the nearby cavern.
- Using Hodir's Spear in hand-to-claw combat with a frost wyrm. Admittedly, this is a very dangerous thing to do, but simply holding the spear gives me the drive and I must admit that it's quite exhilarating!
- The worg denmother allows me the use of a powerful artifact to summon an ethereal frost worg to sniff out stormforged, who try to infiltrate Dun Niffelem and must be stopped.
- Feeding the hungry spirit of Arngrim with disembodied jormungar.

These jobs aren't easy, but as I said, the Sons are very generous to those who help them. I wish you all the best of luck in proving yourself to the Sons of Hodir!

((*We don't actually know if Loken, Thorim, and Hodir are/were titans, but that is the race usually associated with them.))

The Sons of Hodir (cont.)

((In order to unlock the Sons of Hodir faction, you have to start a looooong quest chain in Storm Peaks. Pick up "They Took Our Men!" in K3 to get started. By the end, you will be friendly with the Sons of Hodir, and three dailies will unlock: "Hot and Cold", "Blowing Hodir's Horn", and "Polishing the Helm". Each grants 250 rep.

At honored, two more dailies will unlock: "Thrusting Hodir's Spear" and "Spy Hunter". These give 500 and 350 rep, respectively.

At revered, a final daily opens up, "Feeding Arngrim", which grants 350 rep per day.

There is one quest for Halls of Lightning, "Whatever it Takes!", which gives 500 rep.

There are also Everfrost Chips, which can spawn all around the Dun Niffelem and Thunderfall areas. They are looted items that start quest, but unlike the Netherwing Eggs of BC, you may only have one at a time. "Everfrost Chip" is a repeatable quest and gives 350 rep. Also, in patch 3.0.8, players will also have the option of a repeatable turn-in with the Sons. Ten Relics of Ulduar will yield 250 rep.

Pre-patch, without ridiculous amounts of Everfrost Chip farming, it takes a player around 20-25 days of attentive quest completion to hit exalted.

Reputation rewards are varied, but most sought after are the shoulder enchants. The lesser enchants are available at honored, while the greater enchants unlock at exalted. In addition to a few blue armor pieces, the Sons also offer two mounts ([item]Reins of the Ice Mammoth[/item] at Revered, [item]Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth[/item] at exalted), [item]Pattern: Mammoth Mining Bag[/item] for leatherworkers, [item]Pattern: Glacial Bag[/item] for tailors, and [item]Design: Smooth Autumn's Glow[/item] for jewelcrafters.))
