Had Bhayne still been among the living, her heart would be pounding fit to burst. There would be fear and uncertainty, along with bouts of panic. Indeed, she might never have gotten the nerve up to do what she'd just done. But then, had she still been among the living, this never would have happened in the first place. Most likely, V'Ghera wouldn't have given her a second glance. It was easy at first, to just sink into oblivion, let him do as he wished without a thought in her head. But then the lotus wore off and she'd been granted freedom to wander. She'd run into old friends and acquaintances, even Krevak had been happy to see her. That's when she'd slowly began to wake up...

So many 'what-if's', but such thoughts bordered on foolishness, as one couldn't change the past. She gripped the saddle tighter, smiling down wryly at the drake beneath her. Bhayne had spent enough time with her companion to know that trying such would only bring worse consequences. "The border into Icecrown...land there..."

The drake nodded and dived into a spiral. Bhayne shut her eyes, letting the wind rush over her for a few before feeling the impact of the drake landing upon the snow. Taking a few steps to slow herself down, the drake murmured. "You sure you want to land here Bhayne? It's not safe..." She slid off the drake's back with a nod. "No less safe than anywhere else right now. Thank you."

Frowning, the drake turned herself about to watch the death knight. "Look, I'm staying. It's not right you do this alone..." Bhayne waved her hand, brushing off the drake's words. "I'll be fine. I'll get to the Shadow Vault and check in there. Then, the gryphon and I will find a quiet place. I appreciate your concern, but you'll stand out in a place where I need to lay low. And it really is too cold here for you to remain for long."

As Bhayne removed her pack, the drake continued "Yes, I know all that, but you're at a dangerous time right now. I would hate to see anything happen due to my inaction and cause worse events to occur in your time." The death knight almost chuckled at that, leave it to a bronze drake to show her worry by discussing it in terms of timelines! "We'll neet up again, I promise. I'll send word once I can. For now, stay closer to Dalaran. If you have to, head to Wyrmrest Temple." Stepping back, she waved to the drake as she lifted off into the air, watching her become a speck in the sky. Pulling a shard of gryphon bone from her back, she placed it on the ground, hissing a quiet command. Bhayne watched impartially as the skeletal creature reassembled itself from the bones on the ground. There were so many bones strewn about in Icecrown that the creature was formed in seconds.

It let out a shriek and shook itself, perforning a quick preening as it cleaned the bones with which it was now made. Bhayne waited patiently, letting it take care of its business first before grabbing her pack and sliding onto its back. "To the Shadow Vault..."

Two scrolls down, one more to write. Bhayne scowled at the parchments piling up in front of her. She'd never gotten this much mail until lately. It seems the little goblins were better than the most experienced hunter at tracking someone down to deliver a message.

Her time in Icecrown had been mostly uneventful, with the exception of Filraen being a contant hazard. She mused that one point, she would have felt pity for the death knight, but now she didn't feel much in any way for him. Perhaps a bit of '...that could have been me, thank-whoever that it isn't', but beyond that, not much. He wasn't even a bad sort to talk to, from time to time, aside from his preaching for the Lich King.

This last missive was proving harder to write. She'd now been staring at the same blank parchment for fifteen minutes. Finally, with something bordering on a resigned sigh, she wrote out a brief message.

"Ma'am?" She looking up from sealing the scroll to see one of the acolyte's within the Shadow Vault looking at her. "Yes?" "Ma'am, Koltira has a task for you." She nodded, handing the acolyte the message. "See that this gets to its destination." As she strode out, the acolyte looked down. Dernes ProudHorn, Wardens of Ysera.
